The Hopkins Boys Soccer team competes against some of the best soccer programs in New England as a member of both the Western New England Prep School Soccer Association (WNEPSSA) and the Fairchester Athletic Association (FAA).
Hopkins won the FAA regular season and tournament titles in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021. In 2021, the team posted a 15-2-1 record and the most wins in program history. In recent seasons, the team has received the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award and four Hopkins players have been honored as members of the United Soccer Coaches High School Scholar All-American Teams. Hopkins graduates have gone on to successful college soccer careers at Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, and Lehigh, among other schools.
Hopkins fields teams at the Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Junior School (7th and 8th grade) levels. The coaching staff trains players to play quick, intelligent soccer; to play hard; to play fair; and, above all, to have fun while learning the game.
Head coach Joseph Addison played for Amherst College. After graduating, he taught at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey, where he also played for the college's soccer team. He became head coach in 2015, previously working with the Junior School Boys team and then assisting longtime coach Eric Mueller. He holds a United Soccer Coaches National Diploma. Coach Addison also chairs the Hopkins English Department.
