The Music Department at Hopkins offers a variety of ensembles for course credit at the high school level, including Concert Choir, Orchestra, Jazz/Rock Ensemble, and Band.
In addition to ensembles for course credit, ad hoc chamber groups and jazz/rock combos are carved out of the larger groups.
The Hopkins Concert Choir performs twice a year in Yale's Battell Chapel and several times a year at other venues. Every other summer, the Hopkins Tour Choir travels abroad where their performances garner rave reviews.
The Hopkins campus includes ten pianos, three sound-insulated practice rooms, and a
Recording Studio that enables 16-track simultaneous recording and mixing using Protools software. The studio is wired for independent or tandem audio from three locations.
Private Music Lessons in selected instruments and voice are offered during the school day on the Hopkins campus.
Hopkins hosts major concerts featuring guest performers in Heath Commons, a beautiful space overlooking the city of New Haven featuring a Steinway D piano.
