Skiers Advance in Competition

Bhutani '28 and Fejos '26 are competing in the second round of the CISL Slalom events Monday, January 27th.
The CISL (CT Interscholastic Ski League) of 30 schools is the largest high school ski racing organization in Connecticut with over 700 racers split into L and S divisions. From this league, Team Connecticut is formed through a series of two races to determine a girls and boys team of 12 racers each to compete in the US Eastern High School Ski Championships.
 
Qualifiers:
Round 1 - Giant Slalom "Shootout" held Tuesday, Jan 21, 2025. Top 50 racers nominated from the league. Need to finish 30th or better to advance to Round 2.

Simi Bhutani finished 19th in this round.  Her best two combined times totaled 48.64 seconds.

Jake Fejos had an11th place finish this round. His best two combined times equaled 47.98 seconds.
 
Round 2 - Slalom "Shootout" will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Jan 27, 2025.  The top 30 finishers from Round 1 compete to find the best 12 racers overall. This is a slalom race; the best two times out of three attempts will be added to the times from Round 1 for the final score.

The best racers from this will advance to compete as members of Team Connecticut in March.  Congratulations to Simi and Jake, and GOOD LUCK!
