Yale Research Scientists Speak to the 11th and 12th Grades

Hopkins hosted research scientists from Yale University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at a special assembly for 11th and 12th graders on Thursday, September 19. Dr. Amit Datye and PhD students, Aurelia Moriyama-Gorish and Colton Basar, presented their current research that is being tested in projects with NASA and the Dept. of Defense.

They also talked with students about pursuing careers in science. Current Hopkins student Benjamin P. ’24 and alum Eli Ratner ’23 worked with Dr. Datye in his lab during summer internships for the Hopkins Authentic Research Program in Science (HARPS).
