Nine Hopkins Seniors Named Candidates for U.S. Presidential Scholars Program

Nine current Hopkins seniors were named as candidates for the 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The candidates are Christina Cao, Alicia Cheng, Julia DiMiceli, Yuki Heeger, Sean Kelly, Joy Kim, Ethan Liu, Alexander Skula, and Kyle Zhang.

A nomination to the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program is among the highest honors a graduating high school senior can receive in America. Scholars are selected based on distinguished academic and artistic achievements, leadership qualities, a strong character, and dedicated involvement in school and community activities.

Each year, up to 161 seniors from around the country are chosen from the nearly 3.6 million students expected to graduate from U.S. high schools. This April, the Commission on Presidential Scholars, a group of up to 32 eminent citizens appointed by the president, will select the finalists. The U.S. Department of Education will announce the scholars in May.

Please join us in congratulating these individuals on this outstanding achievement.
