With a 6--1 victory over a plucky but clearly overmatched Gunnery tennis team, the 2004 boys tennis team has earned more dual meet wins (12) than any other boys' tennis team in Hopkins history! The doubles teams of David Goodrich & Nate Rosenblatt, and Nick Perkins & Liam Andrew got Hopkins off on the right track with hard earned 8--6 victories. Then the #1, 2, and 3 punch of Alex Zackheim, Lenny Kolstad, and Phil Bernasek made sure the victory was sealed with decisive straight set victories over their Gunnery opponents. Wins by David Zackheim at #5 and Dan Wong at #6 rounded out the Hopkins scoring. The final dual meet match of the Hopkins season comes Wednesday (5/19) vs. Taft School, in what promises to be an extremely close and hotly contested battle between two schools with outstanding 2004 dual meet records.
Hopkins is a private middle school and high school for grades 7-12. Located on a campus overlooking New Haven, CT, the School takes pride in its intellectually curious students as well as its dedicated faculty and staff.
