After a close 4--3 loss vs. Brunswick on Saturday, the Hopkins tennis team came out on Monday, April 19th, determined to avenge a 5--2 loss at the hands of the Rye CDS tennis team a year ago. This Hopkins did with a vengeance, carving out a 6--1 victory by winning the top three singles matches without the loss of a set, and by winning all three doubles matches in the same fashion. Alex Zackheim, playing at the #1 singles position, was particularly impressive in dispatching Rye's star player, Ivan Reibeisen, by a 6--0, 6--4 score. Coaches Gull and Ewen were both pleased by the singleminded focus shown by the Hopkins players. Hopkins will next fix its undivided attention on Wednesday's match vs. Kingswood--Oxford, a 6--1 victor over the Hilltoppers a year ago.
Hopkins is a private middle school and high school for grades 7-12. Located on a campus overlooking New Haven, CT, the School takes pride in its intellectually curious students as well as its dedicated faculty and staff.
