Support and FAQs

List of 4 frequently asked questions.

  • Are Hopkins students required to have a computer?

Hopkins is an official Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) school and students are required to own a laptop with a built-in webcam.  We primarily recommend students have either a Mac or a PC.  However, being that we are a Google School (G Suite), many of our students also do really well with Chromebooks.  When we deliver online classes remotely via Zoom, please be aware that some Chromebook users reported issues with video or audio quality, while Mac and PC users did not have this problem.  Many classes may have breakout groups within Zoom, joining the students at home with the students physically in class.  For this reason, we recommend that all students have a set of headphones with a built-in microphone that can be connected to their laptops.
