Our first match was a chilly one--low 40s and breezy. Our boys were hot to trot, however, and were eager to record a W and pick up where we left off last year. At Line 1 singles, Max was firing on all pistons and dictated play throughout. Lucio also controlled the points as well, with spin and well-timed shots to the corners of the court. Alex did his best to hang on in a match against a young player with loads of talent and power, but came up just a few games short today. Bryan's match was the longest and closest. He made use of every shot in his repertoire to thwart his opponent's power game, coming back in both sets from a significant deficit and ending up on top after an 8-6 tiebreaker. Well done, Bryan!

Our newly established doubles teams performed brilliantly today. Lucas and Karun were solid at the net, and Jacob and Jake controlled the middle of the court with power and tough volleys. And Will and Gray took control early of their match and ceded few point to their opponent at Line 3.

We thank the many folks who came to cheer on the team today--we appreciate your commitment to watching while it was so cold. We hope that you've all thawed out by now. Finally, Happy Birthday wishes to Jacob!!

We look forward to taking to the courts the next two days in order to gear up for our next match, which is at home versus the very competitive Hoosac School this Saturday at noon. Good Job Boys, and...

YEAH HOP!!
