Hopkins Honors Beloved Choral Director JoAnn Wich with a Celebration of Life
On July 13, 2024, over 200 people gathered at Hopkins to celebrate the life and legacy of cherished former Choral Director, JoAnn Wich, who spent more than three decades teaching on the Hill.
During the event, many of her choristers came together to sing three of her favorite songs from her time at Hopkins. The singers sounded beautiful and certainly would have made their beloved teacher proud. Family and friends enjoyed hearing from Art Department, Robert Smith, former Head of School, Barbara Riley, and JoAnn's sons, Scott '89 and Stefan Wich. The gathering was a perfect way to honor JoAnn's life and her impact on Hopkins, her students, and the choral music program.
Hopkins would like to thank Bobby Smith, Barbara Riley, Mark Lee '97 and Joshua Fein '04 for their help in making the gathering so special. Watch portions of the performances in the video below.
