Hopkins falls just short at Suffield

The Hopkins ladies played a typically close game with Suffield, ultimately falling short by a 12-13 score.  Suffield jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Hopkins responded with four goals of their own.  Suffield led by 8-6 at the half.  The second half saw the opponents extend their lead to 12-7 before the Hilltoppers again responded with five goals to Suffield's one in the final nine minutes.  With fourteen seconds remaining the Suffield goalie stopped a final shot by Avery MacMullen and Suffield was able to run out the final seconds for the 13-12 win.  Annie Banks led Hopkins scorers with five goals and an assist, Avery MacMullen was three and three,  Emma Banks went three and one, Libby Gardner added one goal, and Natalie Passarelli had an assist.  Hopkins is now 2-2 on the year and heads to Rye Country Day for their next match on Monday.
