We recognize the cost of an independent school is a substantial investment and appreciate the sacrifices families make for their children to benefit from a Hopkins education.
This year we awarded more than $6 million in grants. These are not loans and do not have to be paid back. We also provide assistance for supplemental costs beyond tuition. Books, transportation and laptops are considered when an initial award is made and may be included as appropriate.
Lunch is provided for all students. Additional funds are available to cover other non-tuition costs, such as field trips, if needed.
There is no minimum income required in order to apply for financial aid. For families with an income at, or below, $100,000, Hopkins may be tuition-free. The average income of a family with one tuition receiving financial aid is $175,000. We are committed to making Hopkins possible for families from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds. Each family is unique and financial circumstances can vary widely. The Financial Aid Committee makes decisions on a case-by-case basis, and seeks to partner with families to make a Hopkins education possible. We meet 100% of our admitted students demonstrated financial need.
