Volleyball - Varsity Girls
2024 - 2025Head Coach: Dina DingThe Girls Volleyball Program at Hopkins is dedicated to mastering the fundamentals of the game while still competing at a high level. Volleyball has been a sport at Hopkins since 1977. The program consists of girls from grades 7 through 12 playing at the Junior School (grades 7 and 8), Junior Varsity, and Varsity levels. The Varsity level competes in the Fairchester Athletic Association (FAA), as well as non-league games consisting of other NEPSAC schools.
The team hosts an annual pink game in October to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research. It's a great opportunity for the team to bond while helping a worthy cause.
Former Professional and Olympian Dina Ding is the girls Head Volleyball coach. Coach Ding was the team captain and setter for the Tianjin Bridgestone Women’s Volleyball Club in China helping the club to seven national championships. She represented China in the 2000 Sydney Olympics and was chosen by her country as the torchbearer in the 2008 Beijing games.Ms. Ding currently coaches out of the Evergreen volleyball academy in Weston, CT. Sheena Shen will join coach Ding as her assistant coach at Hopkins. Coach Shen played collegiately for NAIA national champion BYU-Hawaii. Previously, Coach Shen and Coach Ding led the first ever Connecticut 11U team to the AAU National Championships.

Hopkins is a private middle school and high school for grades 7-12. Located on a campus overlooking New Haven, CT, the School takes pride in its intellectually curious students as well as its dedicated faculty and staff.
