• Welcome Receptions for New Families

  August
  Returning families welcome those just beginning their journey at Hopkins by hosting gatherings at their homes before the school year begins. These events provide an opportunity for experienced parents and students to share insight into their experience at Hopkins. We aim to build community, ease the transition before the first day of school, and help new families connect with people they’ll see throughout the school year.

• Homecoming Weekend

  October
  Each year we look forward to Homecoming Weekend. Friday kicks off with a Fall Festival where you can sample the artistic momentum of the Hopkins community and enjoy seasonal activities with your whole family. On Saturday, the community is invited back to support our athletes throughout the day. With food, family fun, and school spirit, it is a weekend you won't want to miss!

• Parent Association Speakers

  Throughout the year we host educational get-togethers featuring guest speakers on a range of topics of interest to parents.

• Admission Open House

  Fall
  Volunteers welcome prospective Hopkins students and their parents to the Hill as they learn about our school and tour the campus.

• Celebrate Hopkins! Auction

  Fall
  This event is a wonderful opportunity for Hopkins parents, friends, faculty, and staff to gather in a social setting to raise important funds for our school. It's the largest parent social gathering and the only fundraising event of the year. The festive evening features a wide array of auction items with refreshments and hors d’oeuvres, as well as entertainment from Hopkins’ student groups. Over the years, it has sponsored many school funds and activities, including the class activity funds, the Junior School Dance, Homecoming, Prom, refurbishment of Stone Lounge in Hopkins House, the Chemical Dependency Program, and the Student Needs Fund. Most recently, the funds raised supported new furniture for our students in the Dining Hall!

• Parent Community Events

  Social events for parents that take place in the New Haven area. Past outings have featured visits to art galleries and local restaurants, among other attractions. Attendance is open to all current parents. Look out for announcements in @Hop regarding details for the gatherings. They fill up fast!

• Winter Parent Social

  Parents from all grades gather for a purely social outing at the mid-year point. It is a great chance to enjoy some food, drinks, and most importantly, each other's company!

• Junior School Dinner Dance

  Spring
  The Parent Association hosts our 7th and 8th grade students for dinner prior to the annual Junior School Dance.

• Junior School Ice Cream Social

  Spring
  Our 7th and 8th graders enjoy frozen treats to celebrate the Junior School's annual drama production.

• Faculty Appreciation Luncheon

  Spring
  A great opportunity to thank our outstanding faculty and staff for all they do. Parents donate and prepare delectable treats for this outdoor luncheon, which has become a highlight of the year for our teachers.
