History Teachers Visit the Lost in New Haven Museum
During opening faculty/staff meetings of the 2024-2025 school year, members of the Hopkins History Department took a field trip to Lost in New Haven Inc. (LOST), a new museum, cultural center, and event space that offers an immersive experience of history through its presentation of a vast collection of New Haven artifacts. During their visit, members toured the collection and explored curricular collaborations.
The artifacts available at the museum tell the story of the creativity and ingenuity of New Haveners over the last 400 years. The collection aims to demonstrate that New Haven is a city of many firsts and inventions, shaped by the migrations of talented immigrants from all over the world who played a significant role in building America.
During their visit to LOST, Hopkins teachers met with museum Executive Director Robert Greenberg and Hopkins alum Amy Caplan ’91. The AP U.S. History teachers are now considering a research trip for their classes in the fall. Hopkins is a private middle school and high school for grades 7-12. Located on a campus overlooking New Haven, CT, the School takes pride in its intellectually curious students as well as its dedicated faculty and staff.
