Fighting Food Insecurity: From the CFBF to Farmlink

The annual Connecticut Food Bank Fundraiser (CFBF), historically known as the Canned Food Drive to many alumni, is now underway. Current Hopkins students are out in the community raising funds for CT Foodshare, an organization that assists food banks and the food insecure in Connecticut. 

 

On Monday, November 13, Student Council President Preston P. ’24 launched this year’s fundraiser with help from a special guest. Alum Ben Collier '17 shared a personal message to the Hopkins community in which he talked about his nonprofit, The Farmlink Project, and the parallels between the CFBF and his work today. He also introduced the award-winning short documentary Abundance, which chronicles The Farmlink Project’s creation during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic by eager college students looking to find tangible ways to help those in need during a national crisis.
