Parent Association

All Hopkins parents are members of the
Hopkins Parent Association (HPA).
The HPA, which operates through a Board and parent grade representatives, promotes a strong sense of community among parents and encourages parent involvement in all aspects of Hopkins School, through events, volunteer opportunities, and communication. The HPA:

  • Encourages and promotes volunteerism in all appropriate aspects of school life;
  • Provides information and guidance to parents on issues related to school, adolescence, and parenting;
  • Provides support for students, faculty, and parents;
  • Conducts outreach to prospective students and parents;
  • Promotes communication among and between parents, students, and the school, and provides input to the school on issues of concern to parents; and
  • Raises and allocates funds to help meet the needs of the school.

This year, we are re-imagining the HPA with pandemic-safe events and meetings, all of which are open to all members of the Hopkins community. Below you will find links to events that we have sponsored in past years.

  • Celebrate Hopkins! Auction

    Spring
    This event is a wonderful opportunity for Hopkins parents, friends, faculty, and staff to gather in a social setting to raise important funds for our school. As the largest parent social gathering and the only fundraising event of the year, you won't want to miss it! The festive evening will feature a wide array of silent auction items with refreshments and hors d’oeuvres, as well as entertainment from Hopkins’ own student groups. Last year, the funds raised supported and sponsored many school funds and activities, including: the class activity funds, the Junior School dance, Homecoming, Prom, refurbishment of Stone Lounge in Hopkins House, the Chemical Dependency Program, and the Student Needs Fund.
  • Junior School Ice Cream Social

    Spring
    Our 7th and 8th graders enjoy frozen treats to celebrate the Junior School's annual drama production.
  • Faculty Appreciation Luncheon

    Spring
    A great opportunity to thank our outstanding faculty and staff for all they do. Parents donate and prepare delectable treats for this outdoor luncheon, which has become a highlight of the year for our teachers.
    As the spring approaches, be on the lookout in @HOP for more information and ways to volunteer.
