On Friday, members of Hopkins Diving traveled to Brunswick for the kick off of the tournament. Kira Johnson placed 4th overall.
On Saturday, Hopkins hosted the FAA Swimming Championship. The boys team placed 2nd overall, and the girls team captured 3rd. Of note, Hopkins came first in several events: Girls 50 Free (Linnea Woolbert), Girls 100 Free (Linnea Woolbert), Boys 200 Medley Relay (Michael Buckley, Zal Mody, Colten Trepp, Matthew Woolbert), Boys 50 Free (Matthew Woolbert), Boys 100 Free (Matthew Woolbert), and the Boys 200 Free Relay (Michael Buckley, Oliver Melnick, Matthew Woolbert, Colten Trepp).
New England Squash
The girls traveled to Berkshire for three matches. They lost 1-6 against Dana Hall, and then 2-5 against Dexter Southfield. They pulled out a win against Westminster 4-3. The team placed 7th in Class C.
The Varsity Boys Squash had a very good weekend at New England’s in Division B in Exeter, NH. The Team played well and fought hard against Belmont Hill (2-5), Noble & Grenough (3-4 by only 2 points!) and finally beating Westminster (4-3) to move up one position to #15 from 16. Excellent team spirit and coordination all weekend.
Western New England Wrestling
The team traveled to GFA, where they placed 4th out of 19 teams. Individual accomplishments included: Eric Fusscas 2nd (106), Marco Dias 3rd (113), Fereol Faure 5th (132), Maurice Ellis 2nd (138), Davis Bachner 6th (144), Rich Fearon 2nd (150), and Nate Levitt 4th (165).
Fencing
Fencing hosted a quad meet over the weekend. Both the Boys and Girls teams went undefeated!
Hopkins is a private middle school and high school for grades 7-12. Located on a campus overlooking New Haven, CT, the School takes pride in its intellectually curious students as well as its dedicated faculty and staff.
